Some pictures of the hand over day

Fun in the sun as you can see.

Some challenges

Transporting the goods was a bit of a nightmare, heavy things.  Luckily thanks to Darren who knows someone who knows someone that knows someone.... we were able to get a bakkie from COKE, thanks Peninsula Beverages and guys (Andre, Ulrich and Darren.  oops sorry Nathan - u 2).

Would've loved to  have received more canned products enabling the orphanage to be sustained a bit longer however the organization was still grateful.

Project Handover - 03 september 2011

On the mornng of Saturday 03 September 2011 we handed over all the contributions we collected for the orphanage.  When we arrived we heard one of the kids got very ill and was hospitalised.  Amina was on her way to relieve one of the facilitators at the hospital.  They ensure any sick children are not alone at the hospital at any time.

Some team members played a game of rugby and cricket with the kids.  As you can see some really enjoyed it and others were just too competitive.  Not to mention any names, hey Darren....

The kids at one stage all ran together in the game of cricket, a bit chaotic however very entertaining.  The cricket bat was substitued for a tennis racket then for a plank.  Not sure it was in that order as it was so chaoatic on the field.  The kids sang us a good bye song.... wait for it I went to Ketucky, I went to the fair..  That was unexpected but nice.

They had big smiles on their faces when you saw the chips being off loaded some kids only wanted to carry those bags....  We were able to secure a washing machine and 2 stoves for them, lots of groceries, nappies and cereal.  We dropped off fruit and veg 2 days before.  It was heartwarming to see the donations coming in from people, they really opened their hearts for the kids.

The onething is clear everyone enjoyed the games no matter how fast or slow they were... or competitive (no names) hey Darren...
